Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When we speak of God's attributes, we are talking about those characteristics that help us to understand who He truly is. An attribute of God is not a “part” of God- not component parts of God. In other words, God is not 15% love, 25% holy, 5% righteousness, 10% mercy, etc. Each attribute describes His total being. For example, love is not just a part of God’s nature; God in His total being is love. Holiness is not just a part of God’s nature; God in His total being is holy. And God will not compromise one of His attributes when exhibiting another attribute of His. So we always need to remember that God is the sum of all perfections, and because of which, we must be careful when we study the attributes of God that we do not emphasize one attribute at the expense of the others. What you will find in this book: 'Meditating on the Attributes of GOD' are just some of His attributes and are in no way thorough, as God is infinitely far above and beyond our ability to fully understand and comprehend HIM. Our finite minds cannot reason fully- not even a fraction of Who God is, but the Bible communicates what He is like, so that we can know Him better. God tells us through His very Word, specific truths about Himself so that we can know what He is like, and be drawn to better worship Him. God’s manifold attributes shine most clearly in His Son, Jesus Christ, who came to reveal His Father. Through Christ’s saving work on the cross, we are able to know and worship God rightly. And once we begin to grasp Who God really is and what He is like, it will make a difference in our lives. Properly understanding God is the key to trusting Him enough that He can live through you. A.W. Tozer wrote, “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” A right view and understanding of God is essential if we are to develop trust and faith in Him and have real purpose in living. So why learn about the attributes of God? As someone very well put it, “A man’s own character will necessarily be determined by the character of the god whom he worships.” What you are and what you will turn out to be in life is affected by whom or what you worship. Therefore in order to have a true understanding of Who God is so as to rightly worship this God of the Bible, we must have a right understanding of His attributes. Though there are many good reasons why it is important for us to understand the attributes of God, here are just 3 key reasons as to why I believe it is important for us to do so: 1: It pleases God 2: It saves and protects us from having a wrong view of God. 3: The result is joy in our hearts. This book therefore aims to help us study and understand the attributes of this infinite God so that we delight in and love Him with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind. As you will notice this book dwells on twelve key attributes that have been selected- one for every month. And as you get into a particular month with a specific attribute for that month, you will find 31 verses pertaining to that said months’ attribute. Use this devotional to enrich your time set apart with God by taking one description of Him and meditating on that for the whole day, along with the accompanying passage. I pray that this book will help you in your worship of God-the purpose you were created for, by focusing on Him and His character!

It is one of the first books of its kind in the market clearly explaining and expanding the Attributes of God in the Judeo-Christian and Islamic traditions. With the expansion of the book in its Second Edition, it also contains discussion of Prophets and Messengers and in particular discusses the status of Abraham in all the Three monotheistic traditions, The Jewish, Christian and Islamic traditions. This book is about God and our relationship with God. What is more interesting about the Second Edition is that it expands the possibility of more research on the concept of prophethood in the family of Abrahamic faiths. Further, it discusses the status of Abraham according to the theology of St. Paul comparing it briefly with Islam. This book discusses also the status of Jesus in the Jewish and in the Islamic traditions.

Book excerpt: Often quoted by Chuck Swindoll, Charles Stanley, Billy Graham and other great preachers, A. W. Tozer's words are being heard and read by millions today words like: "Origin is a creature word... All things have an origin. But when you come back to God, you come back to the One who has not origin. He is the Cause of all things, the uncaused Cause. God is Transcendent." "You'll never find Him on your own... He is far away in one sense, but in another He is as near as your heartbeat, for the cross has brdiged the gulf." "If there is anything God could learn, it would mean that God didn't know it before. If he didn't know it before, then He didn't know everything, He wouldn't be perfect, and if He isn't perfect then He isn't God." The chapters of this book were originally preached as sermons at Avenue Road Church in Toronto, ON. Whether spoken or written, Tozer's words were designed to "promote personal heart religion" among God's people.

This book was released on 2008-09-01 with total page 808 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Existence and Attributes of God comprises the first two volumes of the works of Stephen Charnock (1628-1680), an English puritan divine who was highly skilled in philosophy, patristics, Reformed theology, and Biblical languages. These volumes are his abiding monument. They are worthy of being compared with the finest in theology. "When the existence and attributes of God are called into question, to whom else can we better go than to Stephen Charnock'' . . . ''those [things revealed belong to us and to our children forever]. The material that Charnock discusses is firmly founded in the Word of God'' . . . ''Both the Old Testament and the New emphasize these two things: First, we should study the whole revelation, not just some easy or favorite parts of it; secondly, the study of God's attributes is not dry as dust theology, but is practical; that is, it leads to righteousness" (Dr. Gordon H. Clark, from a preface to this great work in a Sovereign Grace edition, 1958). One of the greatest tragedies in these spiritually starved times is the sad fact that most Christians know so very little about their God. It is often said that this is simply because these volumes are exhaustive on the subject. Yet it is clearly filled with sublime expositions of the truth regarding God's existence and attributes. "Charnock displays God's attributes not as impersonal abstractions for the mind to juggle with, but as qualities observable in the concrete actions of the living God of which the Bible speaks. The technical terms and sometimes, arguments of scholastic theology are employed, but always with a Biblical orientation. Charnock has no desire to speculate, but only to declare the works and ways, the nature and character, of the God of the Bible. The substance of his doctrine is characteristically Puritan and representatively Reformed." (Dr. James I. Packer, in The Encyclopedia of Christianity, Volume II, p. 410) The possessor of these rare volumes will be blessed by getting acquainted with the incomparable God, and thereby will reach a higher plane of spiritual enjoyment never attained before. To know Him better is to love Him more.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: People often wonder, Who is God? Is He an old confused grandfather sitting in the clouds? Or is He a loving father, a righteous judge, and a merciful king? What we believe about God makes a difference in how we worship and behave. Have you ever questioned God's goodness during tough seasons? It's easy to accept that God is loving when you receive a promotion and that he's merciful when someone forgives you. But, God's characteristics during troubling times can appear so abstract that applying his identity to our life circumstances can seem like a theological puzzle: we possess all the pieces but don't know how they fit together. How can God be good and my life remain troubled, uncertain, and instable? Intellectually knowing God's traits is not enough to change our perspective. We need an overview that allows us to meditate on his traits and that suggests practical ways to apply his identity to our everyday lives. Rose Publishing's Attributes of God, a full color, 14-page pamphlet, explains 20 traits of God in an easy-to-reference chart. Attributes of God gives 20 key traits of God: Loving, Just, Kind, Triune, Transcendent, Immutable, Eternal, Omnipresent, Holy, Jealous, Good, Merciful, Sovereign, Omnipotent, Knowledgeable, Faithful, and more! This easy-to-understand pamphlet explains each attribute, and provides probing questions and devotion-based activities to help you apply the insights to your personal walk.

Book excerpt: A Transforming Knowledge of the Living God The timeless appeal of this classic book, written by a preacher with a worldwide ministry during the first half of the twentieth century, demonstrates the deep hunger for a saving knowledge of God present in each generation. Arthur Pink sought to give readers not just a theoretical knowledge of God but pointed them toward a personal relationship of yielding to him and living according to his biblical precepts. Pink's book explores attributes such as God's decrees, foreknowledge, sovereignty, holiness, grace, and mercy, among many others, all packaged in a style especially useful for pastors, teachers, and Bible students. Our God who is above all names cannot be found through human searching alone, Pink teaches, but can be known only as he is revealed by the Holy Spirit through his living Word.
